Charles Cooke, DDS, MS

Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Charles Cooke is a pediatric dentist who proudly offers gentle dental care to infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs. Dr. Cooke received his Bachelor of Arts in music from Duke University and his Doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Dr. Cooke’s devotion to caring for his community and those in need led him to participate in service and teaching opportunities both nationally and abroad, serving in global dental missions, traveling to Florianopolis, Brazil and Lilongwe, Malawi. Dr. Cooke is an avid Duke Basketball fan! He enjoys spending time with his wife and children!

Lisa Candon, DDS

Board Certified Pediatric Dentist

A native of Charlotte, Dr. Lisa Candon is thrilled to be practicing pediatric dentistry in her hometown! She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate studies and completed her dental training at the University of Maryland. Dr. Lisa then pursued her postdoctoral specialty training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital which is often ranked as one of the top children’s hospitals in the country! She is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. When not treating patients, Dr. Lisa enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter.

Oscar Mvula, DDS

Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Oscar Mvula found his passion for pediatric dentistry by participating in clinical rotations focused on children and patients with special needs. Dr. Oscar earned his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2007 and received his Doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2011. Dr. Oscar is a board certified pediatric dentist and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Oscar is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and now calls Charlotte home.

Jessica Simon, DMD

Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Jessica Simon is from Brooklyn, New York. She always had a passion for working with children and realized in her early college years that being a pediatric dentist was her calling. Dr. Simon attended the University of Rochester and received her Bachelors of Arts in public health. While in college, she was given the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Malawi, Africa helping children in need by volunteering at a medical and dental clinic. Dr. Simon received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Case Western Reserve University. While in dental school, she received the National Health Service Corp Scholarship where she provided dental care services to underserved communities in need. After completing her dental education, Dr. Simon obtained her certificate in pediatric dentistry at Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center Northwell Health.

Dr. Simon is committed to creating a fun and supportive environment. She provides optimal dental care to children of all ages and persons with special health care needs, as she understands what they need to feel comfortable in the dental office. In her free time, Dr. Simon enjoys shopping, exercising and spending quality time with her husband, Pernell, and their two children, Jayla and Jordan.

Noah Menaker, DDS

Pediatric Dentist

Born and raised in Charlotte, Dr. Noah Menaker is excited to create happy and healthy smiles in his hometown! He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then spent two years teaching middle school science as a corps member with Teach For America in Phoenix, AZ. During this time, Dr. Noah also earned his Master of Education degree from Arizona State University. He then returned to Chapel Hill, where he graduated from the UNC School of Dentistry with honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. Dr. Noah completed his pediatric training in Indianapolis, where he served as chief resident at Riley Hospital for Children. He received his certificate in pediatric dentistry and Master of Science in Dentistry degree from Indiana University.

When not treating patients, Dr. Noah enjoys scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with his boyfriend, Joe, and their rescue pit bull, Scooter.

Taylor Harlan, DDS

Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Taylor Harlan was born and raised in Miami, FL and is excited to now call Charlotte home. Dr. Taylor attended the University of Florida for her Bachelor of Science, graduating in 2011 with a degree in physiology and kinesiology. She continued her education by attending dental school at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. Upon completion of her degree at UNC, Dr. Taylor attended Ohio State University College of Dentistry where she earned a Master of Science for her research related to children with autism and achieved her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Max Rudie, DDS

Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Max grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and strives to create a positive experience for children when visiting the dentist. Dr. Max attended North Carolina State University and received his dental training at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following dental school, Dr. Max completed his pediatric dental residency at the University of Florida. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Association and the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Max loves playing all sports, especially soccer! He also enjoys traveling and spending his time with his wife, Amanda, and their two Maltipoos, Charlie and Ollie.

Nehemiah Lawson, DDS

Pediatric Dentist

What happens when you combine acting and singing with baby teeth? You get Dr. Nehemiah Lawson, of course! Dr. Lawson, a military kid, was born in Germany and raised in Columbus, GA. He attended the University of Georgia where he discovered his interest for dentistry, served on mission trips, and even performed at Town Hall (down the street from Broadway!).

Dr. Lawson received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from UNC-Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry, and his postdoctoral pediatric residency training at Texas A&M College of Dentistry (formerly Baylor) in conjunction with Children’s Medical Center and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Dr. Lawson is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Association, and the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

In his free time, Dr. Lawson can be found hiking with his awesome German Shepherd (Tytin), weightlifting, traveling, singing and auditioning for the latest theatre stage show, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends!
